Experience

Dr. Lu is a graduate of the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at the University of Hawaii and ophthalmology residency at the University of Southern California, Doheny Eye Institute. After residency he joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California, Doheny Eye Institute. He is board certified in Ophthalmology and is currently the Director of Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department at the Doheny Eye Institute.

 

Dr. Lu has published numerous articles since 1996 and has an ongoing research interest in the area of refractive and cataract surgery. He has performed thousands of refractive and cataract surgeries, and is proficient in all the most advanced forms of refractive surgeries. He has lectured nationwide on the above topics and is an avid teacher to the USC ophthalmology residents and medical students.

 

Dr. Lu is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Refractive & Cataract Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He is involved in the continuous education of fellow and future ophthalmologists in the area of refractive and cataract surgery. He excels in the areas of communication and teaching, and is well-liked by patients and colleagues. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese and medical Spanish in addition to English.
