The Doheny Laser Vision Center offers procedures to correct a variety of refractive errors including myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), regular and irregular astigmatism and presbyopia.

Most patients are good candidates for excimer laser procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and LASEK. The Center offers the latest wavefront-guided excimer laser technology called CustomVue. The new technology makes excellent quality of vision easier to achieve than ever before.

Some people cannot have excimer laser procedures for a variety of reasons. These patients may be good candidates for a number of innovative new procedures offered at the Center. Eyes with keratoconus or other conditions that thins and distort the cornea may benefit from intracorneal ring implants (Intacs). Eyes with high or extreme myopia may be treatable with phakic intraocular lens implantation (Verisyse). Eyes with high or extreme myopia may be correctable by natural lens replacement (NLR). Some cases of astigmatism are best treated with astigmatic keratotomy (AK).
