Eyeglasses

Bring the eyeglasses you wear most often and/or your contact lens prescription with you, even if they no longer help your vision. Old eyeglasses and contact lens prescriptions are also helpful to bring as they will provide information about the stability of your eyes.

Driver

You may wish to bring someone who can drive you home.  A complete eye evaluation includes the use of eye drops to dilate your pupils.  This may blur your vision if the glasses or contact lens you are wearing do not correct your vision fully.  Dilated pupils admit more light and therefore your eyes will be more light sensitive.  So you may wish to bring sunglasses.  Dilating eye drops may also reduce your near (reading) vision temporarily.  The effects of these eye drop should be mostly gone by the next day.
